Ended the production of short feature film “And God stepped into the void”. This project was implemented with the financial support of the State Agency of Ukraine for movie and Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine.

The film tells the life story of one day an elderly couple who, though sharing the same territory, lives in enmity and hatred to each other.

The idea of the project creation “And God stepped into the void” has arisen on the basis of real facts. Zaza Buadze visited the Chernobyl exclusion zone, where he became an unexpected witness the life of an elderly couple. He was so impressed by what he saw that, having arrived in Kiev and telling the General producer of Fresh Production Julia Chernyavskaya this story, immediately had the idea to write a script and make a film.

After the shooting, we talked about this project with the producers of Fresh Production Julia Chernyavskaya and Oleg Shcherbina.

- What is the fact, in Your opinion, influenced the fact that the State Agency of Ukraine for the movie and the Foundation for Development of Ukraine supported this project?

O. S: the Fact that we were supported by these two major organizations proves that actually was really written a brilliant script.

J. C: In addition, the project was actually prepared: assembled a first-class team, were selected brand Mature with huge experience filmmakers. We assembled a group so that the maximum to show creative abilities of professionals in the implementation of this project. And in my opinion, it happened.

O. S: Actually Goskino bribed two things: the first is a brilliant idea and the script, and the second group was formed, the ready project and holistic understanding of what we want to do and how. “And God stepped into the void” is only a short film, which last year won a tender of the state, with a large margin of 10 points. So we joined the program of state funding.

With the Foundation the situation repeated. The Fund could not support this project, because at the time, “And God stepped into the void” was one of the most developed projects in Ukraine.

- Chernobyl tragedy shocked the whole world. This story still remains topical for Ukraine. It wanted to emphasize the creators in his film?

J. C: actually, this story, like any good work that has many different faces and meanings. Personally for me, the main issue that was raised – is human suffering. The fact of Chernobyl in this story, in my opinion, opinion, absolutely secondary, it only emphasizes the loneliness and the inability to find a common language between people who are in complete emptiness. When two people cannot find common ground in a big city, living among a huge number of people, they communicate with others can give a logical explanation. In this history, there is no logic. They had a row and is now unable to join any bridges. If the characters were originally strangers and did not like each other, it would be understandable. But they are husband and wife, they lived together for a big slice of life, they are the closest people. And yet, despite this, they are enemies who are unable to agree, living together “alone”. For me, it is this aspect is important in this film.

But, Director Zazu Buadze here care, full of myths, the theme of the curse and the theme destroyed the garden of Edem.

O. S: In all such stories all the complexity and the beauty is that in the same history, everyone is looking for the answers to the questions that concern more. Some things that are obvious and easy for one person to another they are important. All the serious work of art is many-sided. That’s the beauty “And God stepped into the void” – one in which everyone will find your answer.

Why, exactly, oratorio I. Haydn’s “Creation of peace” was the final musical chord in this picture?

J. C: Haydn Oratorio was the basic work in the writing of the script. This music was paraphernalia of that abandoned the garden of Eden, where the acceptance of each other, has destroyed everything. The Lord gave them all, and they were never able to accept it, broke is all that God had prepared.

- What is the fate of this film? Will it become a festival or a wide range of viewers?

O. S: In the nearest future we plan to present the film at film festivals. Subsequently, we consider the possibility to show the film to a wide range of viewers.
