And God stepped out on space…

In September 2012 FRESH PRODUCTION`s short art house film project “And God Stepped Out on Space…” was granted by Rinat Akhmetov Fund “Development of Ukraine”.

The high concept of the future movie was inspired by the real events the authors have witnessed in Chernobyl Zone of Alienation. An old couple living their days in a small abandoned village. They’ve separated a while ago and he moved to a half-collapsed house once belonged to their neighbors. Joseph Haydn`s music (The Creation) running through the story of lost love, loneliness and unforgiveness.

A few words about the project from Fresh Production producer Oleg Shcherbyna and film director/ script writer Zaza Buadze:

- Could you please tell us about the idea of the movie? What is the message it is to send to the audience?

Oleg Shcherbyna: The idea of this film came to my partner Julia Chernyavska and film director/writer Zaza Buadze some years ago, while discussing a real story seen in Chernobyl zone of alienation.

Undoubtedly, the subject we’ve developed in the script is not limited to one country and it is actual also outside Ukraine – loneliness and mutual misunderstanding concerns people all around the word. But, at the same time, Chernobyl zone where our story takes place makes it genuinely Ukrainian!

Zaza Buadze: “And God Stepped Out on Space…” is a story of people, incapable to speak the common language even in the total loneliness!

The paradox of our overpopulated world is a complete alienation. It doesn’t matter how many people are surrounding us, or how much developed the contemporary communication technologies are … we still suffer from loneliness.

“And God Stepped Out on Space…” will be realized with the support of Renat Akhmetov Fund “Development of Ukraine”.
