Shooting of a new 4-part film titled “Black Flower” of TV channel “Ukraine” and Fresh Production Company started yesterday. In the center of the film – the story of young people, which fundamentally changed the course after the Chernobyl disaster.

The film moves viewers back in time to Chernobyl of 1986. A graduate of the Pedagogical Institute Lera was sent to the city of Pripyat (one of the most comfortable and well-supplied Soviet cities) to work as a teacher of elementary grades. There she meets Vitas – the love of her life, who works as a nuclear engineer. Lera dreams of a big family but the events that took place in April of 1986 irrevocably change the lives of the heroes of the film “Black Flower“.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Director of the serial – Roman Barabash (“Bad neighbor”, “Golden Bride”, “Police Chief”). DOP – Sergei Bordenyuk. Scriptwriter – Nikolai Snitsar. Author of the idea – Olga Zakharova.

Filming will take place in Kiev and Kiev region.

Leading roles will be performed by Ukrainian and European actors: Ivanna Sakhno, Olesya Vlasova, Richard Lepers, Gediminas Storpirshtis, Victor Saraykin and others.

Natalia Stribuk, producer of Movie-serial production department of TV channel “Ukraine”: “The Chernobyl disaster for us, Ukrainians is especially tragic theme, which affected everyone. Therefore, our interest in the events of that time is bigger than of any other nation. In “Black flower” we have tried to look at this tragedy from the point of view of human lives that were destroyed in one day. The film is about how this catastrophe has affected the character and actions of people who became victims of the tragedy of 26 April 1986 “.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fresh Production team will do the production of the series.
