New project «Ursus»

- Tell us little about the project Ursus?

Oleg Shcherbyna: Since the end of June in Tbilisi begins preparing of shooting a full-length German-Georgian-Ukrainian film «Ursus – Caucasian brown bear».
This movie tells the story of a Georgian actor, who under the guise of a bear – and literally – in the skin of the bear runs away from Tbilisi from the horrors of civil war that happened in the early 90′s in Georgia. Its path runs through Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and further on – to Germany. On the way he meets people from different professions and nationalities, he is involved in lot of funny and sad events. In the end, he reaches the goal, but as usual in life, one must pay for everything…

- Why the project is  German-Georgian-Ukrainian?

O. S.: At first glance, this is an unusual combination. But everything is quite simple. The protagonist of films and film director are the Georgians. The investment is also carried out by the Georgian side. The script is based on a Georgian story. But it says about people and raises eternal questions – about love, friendship, honesty, about man’s place in society, responsibility and the destiny… Thanks to that, and also because of the large interest of Europeans to the events occurring now in the Caucasus the movie woke up interest in the German partners. Their main task is to sale the movie on the European market.
As for the participation of «FRESH PRODUCTION» in this film, our main task is  carry out  its  production. The experience and potential of the company «FRESH PRODUCTION» is a guarantee of high quality movie for the Georgian investor and German distributing partner. Especially because Bulgarian and Romanian scenes of the movie are expected to be shot in Ukraine.

- What are the prospects of Georgian-Ukrainian co-production?

O. S.: In my opinion, the cooperation with Georgia in the sphere of cinema is very important and promising. Georgian business is already getting cramped in his homeland and it is looking for ways of vigorous activity on the Ukrainian and European TV and film markets. This interaction can be beneficial to both countries. I am sure that quite soon we will see the first results of such cooperation
