TV film the «Disappeared Train» manufactured by the «Fresh Production» film making company participates in the XII International Detective Film Festival «DetectiveFEST» which will be held in Moscow on 21?25 April.
The film – a part of the cycle «Under Mysterious Circumstances» – is the only Ukrainian film nominated for the «Best Television Detective Serial or Episode with Complete Plot». Besides the Ukrainian film the nominees are 13 Russian, 2 Italian, 1 Spanish and 1 Chinese serial.
The lead in the «Disappeared Train» is Valerii Zolotukhin, who played a militia colonel nickname Starik (Old Man). He is also nominated – for the best positive actor. Another six colleagues of his from different countries are his rivals in the nomination.
Pavel Maikov who plays Aleksandr Kotin – Starik’s partner – is one of the award winners of the festival.
Original script authors Valerii and Nataliya Lapikura were pleasantly surprised by this news as this is the first film based on their script participating in such a festival. Nataliya Lapikura reminded that the cycle «Under Mysterious Circumstances» is the first wok of the spouse authors which became the basis for a feature film. Previously they have only worked with documental films. The script writer hopes that their «first child» will only please its «parents».
In his turn, the film director Maksim Mekheda noted that Valerii Zolotukhin who plays the militia colonel Staryi is very limited in this role. «If colonel’s partners may change from episode to episode, I can see nobody but Valerii Sergeyevich playing Starik». – he said. «I hope that the festival jury will assess his work correspondently».
«Disappeared Train» is one of the four episodes of the television serial «Under Mysterious Circumstances», joined by the same heroes and timeframes. In every episode militia men – colonel Staryi and his partner – investigate a new tangled crime of the soviet times. By now two episodes of the serial have been shot. The first one – two-series film the «Coffee a la Devil» – was launched on 27 December on the «INTER» channel. Another two parts – «Merciless Love» and «Next Station is Death» – are being prepared for shooting.
In year 2009 another film – Red Lotus – jointly manufactured by «Fresh Production» and «Star Media» film making companies was awarded a special prize of the previous festival «DetectiveFEST» 2009.
