The script of «Assassin’s Love» manufactured by «FRESH PRODUCTION» has been presented at Kiev «Molodist» international film festival and was one of the works selected by the expert review board.
In October 2011 the expert review board of Kiev «Molodist» international film festival selected the best works of 18 applications sent from 7 countries. The expert review board informed: «The presented works were all of a very high level, all the projects were very creative and original, and it was very hard to make a choice. However we did choose 9 projects that seemed best to us».
The script is based on a true story of a Soviet spy (KGB) Bogdan Stashynskii. Assassin’s Love – is a story full of unexpected turns of life of a spy, a story of endless love, and all of this is happening on the background of historical events of the 50-ies. The film director is Zaza Buadze, script writers are Zaza Buadze and Julia Cherniavskaya, producers – Julia Cherniavskaya and Oleg Shcherbina.
Julia Cherniavskaya, General Producer of the «FRESH PRODUCTION», one of the script writers: «The project is at the stage of end of development. We plan to sign contract with distributor at the end of November-December, and then dates of the further project progress will be set».
Zaza Buadze, one of the script writers: «This is a love drama with elements of a spy movie. It involves an important and painful period of the Ukrainian history and altogether touches upon endless themes like love, devotion, regret and atonement».
Oleg Shcherbina, producer of the FRESH PRODUCTION film company: «The Assassin’s Love film has been planned as Ukrainian and European co-production. By now we have reached a preliminary agreement with Bavaria Film GmbH company, which is one of the leading German and European media-companies. The film is also supported from Germany by German Films – national information and advisory center for promotion of German films in the world. Besides German partners, two famous Hollywood consulting companies «The Film Finders» and «The Film Office» are also assisting in promoting the film Assassin’s Love to the international market».
At the end of 2010 the script to Assassin’s Love was selected to participate in the program of «MFI Script 2 Film Workshop» (Greece), and in 2010 the program gathered a record number of participants – 300 projects from 12 European countries. Not many works have been selected at the end – this confirms that the script complies with quality criteria of European and international film production.
